The Corsairs
There are four bands called the Corsairs:
1) The Corsairs were an American doo wop ensemble from La Grange, North Carolina best known for Smokey Places recorded on Chess in the early '60's
2)The Corsairs are a New York City based rockn’roll quartet consisting of Matt Butler on lead vocals and guitar, Peter Mistretta on Lead guitar, Emiliano Ortiz on bass, and Ben Spinrad on percussion. All four members are currently in college in New York City, spread between NYU, Pratt, and The School of Visual Arts. Despite this impressive academic amalgam, none of the members wish to stay in school and would much rather tour. The band initially formed as Naked Riot with original members Matt and Ben, however after a successful but unsatisfying stint at playing punk rock throughout various New York City clubs, the band decided to reform under a different moniker and change the direction of their music. Currently the boys play a wild but unique blend of classic rock influenced songs rooted in mid to late 70’s punk/glam. The Corsairs can go from a blues based ballad to a frenetic rave up in less than 60 seconds. Featuring some of the catchiest guitar hooks and killing vocals, if Led Zeppelin were reincarnated as an 18 year olds garage band, they’d be The Corsairs. In the fall of 2006, The Corsairs first album Out Of the Mouths Of Babes was released, gracing the world with an 11 song soundtrack to their next house party. Currently the band has yet to cover Louie Louie, Gloria, or Twist and Shout, but hope to as soon as possible.
3) The Corsairs are a quintet based in Newcastle upon Tyne, England and were formerly called That Troubled Intention or TTI. Members include; Martin Smith (Vocals) Tom Brown (Lead Guitar) Conor Lighfoot (Rythm Guitar) Luke Agbeko (Bass) and Sam Carrol (Drums).
4) The Corsairs are an "a cappella" pirate quintet. They are based in Dallas, Texas. They primarily perform at renaissance fairs. You can find out more at their website, http://www.corsairs.com/.
5) Corsairs were a band formed in Sydney NSW Australia, released 2 EPs and played awesome chaotic shows featuring some brutal southern rock riffs Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
